I'm really chuffed that the Living Communities pilot in Goomalling now has a champion in one of Australia’s most loved and respected business identities, Dick Smith.
Dick, for our international readers, made his fortune with a chain of retail electrical stores in Australia in the 1970s. After selling the business he became a publisher and later started a business that he still runs, Dick Smith Foods, a food manufacturing business that aims to retain a semblance of local (Australian) ownership of the food industry.
Living Communities fits Dick’s philosophy perfectly. One, based on the belief that entrepreneurship, hard work and local ownership can make big differences in people’s lives and to our economy.
Not only is it great to have financial support from Dick Smith all involved in the Living Communities project feels tremendously vindicated that our idea and concept has been supported by someone we all believe has the right ideas and a reputation for being a savvy operator.
Thanks Dick Smith for your support.
